Thanium is rocket fuel
It propels whatever it powers
The name was chosen because the right integration doesn't just connect your systems - it accelerates everything they do. That is the promise behind every Thanium Nine engagement.
Thanium is rocket fuel
It propels whatever it powers
The name was chosen because the right integration doesn't just connect your systems - it accelerates everything they do. That is the promise behind every Thanium Nine engagement.
Thanium Nine was founded on a simple observation: buildings are full of intelligence, and almost none of it is being used. Building management systems sit behind proprietary interfaces. Sensor data accumulates without being acted on.
Facilities teams manage through spreadsheets and callbacks rather than real-time visibility.
We exist to fix that - not by replacing what organisations already have, but by connecting it, normalising it, and making it useful.
Our open, vendor-agnostic platform is built specifically to work with the systems already in place, so integration is not a rip-and-replace exercise but a forwards-compatible architectural decision.

Mission
To free building data from the systems that trap it, and put it in the hands of the people responsible for the buildings that generate it.
We measure success not by the number of systems we have connected, but by the decisions those connections make possible – fewer emergency callouts, lower energy waste, better-performing buildings, and facilities teams who can get ahead of problems rather than react to them.
Open by design
We're not tied to any manufacturer. Our overlay architecture works on top of what you already have - genuine freedom of choice, now and in the future.
Design
Every engagement begins with a full audit of what already exists. We diagnose before we prescribe. No product is recommended without understanding the infrastructure it will serve.
Implementation
We measure ourselves on outcomes: energy saved, carbon reduced, costs cut, and time given back to the teams who run buildings.
Our Journey
How we got here
The Thanium Nine story is one of identifying a structural problem in the built environment, and building the infrastructure to solve it.
The Idea
Thanium Nine was established after years working AV and BMS integration and recognising that the market's fundamental problem was not the technology - it was the fragmentation.
First Deployments
Initial work with property owners and FM teams proved that the open, agnostic approach was not just technically viable - it was commercially transformative for clients who had accepted lock-in as inevitable.
Thanium OS & Block Builder
The platform matured into a unified operating environment with a no-code Analytics Block Builder - putting genuine engineering capability into the hands of non-technical FM teams.
Trusted at Scale
Working with forward-thinking property owners and FM teams - including names like CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield, JLL, and Savills - to deliver measurable impact across complex portfolios.
A personal message from our founder
Edward Williams
Technical Director
I have always been fascinated by the potential of technology to transform the way we live and work. From an early age, I spent countless hours experimenting with electronics, exploring new technologies, and trying to understand how things worked. That curiosity developed into a lasting passion for innovation, engineering, and solving complex problems through technology.
After completing my education in London, I began my career in the technology industry, where I gained valuable experience and developed both my technical knowledge and professional skills. Working within the industry gave me a deeper understanding of how technology can be applied to real-world challenges and strengthened my ambition to create solutions of my own.
Driven by that ambition, I founded Thanium Nine Limited with the goal of developing innovative technologies for the building automation industry. Building the company has allowed me to combine my technical expertise with my passion for creating practical, forward-thinking solutions. I have been closely involved in developing our technology, solving engineering challenges, working with customers and partners, and building a team capable of turning ambitious ideas into reliable systems.
Over the years, I have focused on creating technology that makes buildings smarter, more efficient, and easier to manage. I believe that good technology should do more than simply add complexity; it should solve genuine problems, improve performance, and provide lasting value to the people who use it. This principle continues to influence the way I approach product development and technical decision-making.
As Technical Director of Thanium Nine, I continue to explore new ideas and push the boundaries of what can be achieved within building automation. I am proud of what we have accomplished so far, but I also see our progress as the beginning of a much larger journey. My aim is to continue learning, innovating, and developing technologies that contribute to smarter buildings and a more connected and efficient future.
